Our Village Church
We are a small village church in the Parish of Altham, situated about half way between Blackburn and Burnley and are one of two churches in the United Benefice of St James, Altham with All Saints, Clayton-le-Moors, in the Diocese of Blackburn, within the Church of England. There has been a church on this site since Norman times but the present church was built in 1512, just three years after Henry VIII was crowned king of England. On special occasions, we still use the communion chalice which was in use in King Henry’s time.
