Notices for 10th May 2026

Jan 25, 2026

  1. Next Sunday, the service will be a service of thanksgiving, linked with our Annual Parochial Church Meeting at the usual time of 09.30. At the meeting we will be electing church wardens for the coming year and one third of the members of the PCC will also be up for election. If anyone is interested in perhaps joining the PCC do speak the Les or Sue after the service, or, if that a Step too far but you would like to know more, why not come along and sit in on Tuesday PCC meeting 7pm here in church. The annual Meeting is a really important meeting  in our church year so, if you are interested in this church and want to have some influence over what it does and where it is heading, please do make every effort to be here next week.
  2. The PCC meets in church at 7pm on Tuesday
  3. The Open the Book team will be rehearsing on Thursday morning at 9.15 in All Saints in preparation for leading worship in our local schools next week.
  4. Also on Thursday the funeral of John Bradley will take place at 12pm
  5. On Friday the Revd. Peter Dillon will be licensed to officiate in the Benefice by the Bishop of Blackburn at 9am at Bishops House.

  7. A reminder that on 16th May, as part of the celebrations of the centenary of the Diocese of Blackburn, there is a family fun day in Blackpool. The event itself is free and begins in the morning with activities for accompanied children, in St John’s church; there is entertainment for everyone in St John’s square; a free hog roast (or veggie alternative); then at 2pm a big outdoor celebratory service. All Saints have booked a coach at a cost of £10 per adult with no charge for children. If anyone is interested in going please speak to Les.
  8. All Saints have booked Mill House in Clayton for a Parish Meal on the evening of Saturday 27th June. The cost is £30 per head and a copy ot the menu is at the back of the church. As this will be just a couple of weeks before the vicar leaves us it would  be nice to make up an “Altham” table, so, if anyone is interested, please speak to Les.
  9. If you would like to be added to the Electoral role please let Cath know.
  10. Taking of the vicar, we will be buying a suitable leaving gift for him, so, if you would like to contribute towards the cost, please let me have any donations during the next couple of weeks.
