- Next Sunday, the service will be Family Communion at the usual time of 9.30. The service will be led by the Revd. Claire McEnery
- The Open the Book team will be rehearsing on Thursday morning at 9.25 in All Saints.
- A reminder that on 16th May, as part of the celebrations of the centenary of the Diocese of Blackburn, there is a family fun day in Blackpool. The event itself is free and begins in the morning with activities for accompanied children, in St John’s church; there is entertainment for everyone in St John’s square; a free hog roast (or veggie alternative); then at 2pm a big outdoor celebratory service. All Saints have booked a coach at a cost of £10 per adult with no charge for children. If anyone is interested in going please speak to Les.
- All Saints have booked Mill House in Clayton for a Parish Meal on the evening of Saturday 27th June. The cost is £30 per head and a copy ot the menu is at the back of the church. It might be nice to make up an “Altham” table, so, if anyone is interested, please speak to Les.
- If you would like to be added to the Electoral role please let Cath know.
- we are pleased to announce that the Revd. Peter Dillon has been appointed as Assistant Curate – to be known as Associate Priest SSM – of Altham and Clayton-le-Moors, subject to the usual safer recruitment checks. Associate Priest means that Revd. Peter is fully ordained and trained priest who can exercise all aspects of ministry – he won’t be the vicar but will work with him (or her) as a colleague. SSM means that Peter is self-supporting – he isn’t paid for his church work. Most of you will know that Peter was a long standing member of All Saints’ church up until his ordination. He is currently Curate SSM at Blackburn St Stephen & St James. Now that his Curacy has finished, we are delighted that he will be returning to minister here in our parishes. He will start in May and so will have a couple of months working alongside Revd. Toby. We are confident that he will make an invaluable contribution to the ministry here both during the period of vacancy and alongside a new incumbent. Please do pray for Peter as he prepares to take up his new post. The Bishop of Blackburn will license him on 15th May 2026 at 9am at Bishops House.
