– Perhaps you may have wondered why the congregation is rarely asked for its opinion on decisions affecting the church that have to be made from time to time. That is because the CofE doesn’t work in that way. Instead, the congregation appoints a small group of people to manage the church on its behalf – the Parochial Church Council, or PCC, and the PCC has responsibility for working with the vicar and the wardens to ensure that things run smoothly and that things are kept in order. A vacancy has arisen on the PCC and, rather than co-opt someone to join the PCC until the next electionsat the Annual Meeting next April we have decided to open up the meetings between now and then so that anyone who wants to know a bit more about how this church is run, can just turn up, with no commitment and take part.
