November 7 @ 12:00 am - November 12 @ 12:00 am
November 11th 2018 marks the centenary of the end of the First World War – “the war to end all wars”. Here at St James we will be holding a very special Remembrance Sunday service to remember all those who died in the service of their country and to commemorate the end of that terrible conflict. Estimated deaths range between 15-19 million and about 23 million casualties. The service will include the reading of some letters home from the trenches, some of the War Poems and bible readings. You will get the chance to sing along with some of the original (and a bit scratchy) songs from the war. The service will of course pay due respect to the true sense of “Remembrance”.
The service begins at 10.00 am and continues at the war memorial for the Act of Remembrance at 11.00 am.
